Missing codec 0xc00d5212 iphone3/31/2024 ![]() I realize I can download the missing codec for my PC, but I was hoping to provide these videos to the parents of the students performing in the recital but cannot do so until I figure out how to make them playable for them. Any ideas as to what is at the root of this issue? Both iPads are kept up-to-date as far as software updates. There was never any issues when playing back video files recorded with the somewhat older iPad Air 2 acquired about 3 years prior. ![]() The files sometimes play using VLC Media Player, but are usually very grainy. This item was encoded in a format that's not supported. I do get an error message when trying to open using Windows Media Player stating: When I uploaded the video files to my PC I discovered I could not play them back using Windows Media Player or Quicktime player. I acquired a 6th generation iPad in December 2018 and used it to record a Christmas recital (I usually use my wife's iPad Air). They include four possible missing codecs that cause the 'This item was encoded in a format thats not supported.'
